A BIG THANK YOU

to 3 board members ending their terms this year.

It’s interesting and beautiful to still see the snow in the trees!

For over a week the snow has hung on the branches, reminding us there has been little wind to blow it out of the trees and cause drifting snow.

The next Gentlemen’s Breakfast will be held December 29th.

Please make your reservations at the Inn.

Arrowhead residents, lot owners, families and guests, are fortunate to have the people who have volunteered to take the First Responders Course at Arrowhead. They were put to the test this week with an emergency with Diane Benson. Here is her poem read at the Christmas party. (Please see articles in the December Smoke Signals on the First Responders Course.)

A Tribute to the First Responders

‘Twas 2 weeks before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, well maybe a mouse.

My back was in spasm and I was reclining in a chair

In hopes that Drug Runner Clyde soon would be there!

When out in the yard there arose such a clatter,

I tried to look and see what was the matter.

Then what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But an ambulance sleigh and 5 men with no fear!

With a little old driver so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be Chief Stilley!

More rapid than eagles his Responders - they came,

And he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

Now Boulter, now Bartlett, now Rosenbaum, and Cook!

To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!

Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!

So up to our house his Responders - they flew,

With the sleigh full of gear and Chief Stilley, too!

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the deck

The prancing and stomping of the incoming trek!

As I drew in my head and was turning around,

Through the front door all of them came with a bound!

They spoke a kind word, but went straight to their work,

Laid out the body splint - then turned with a jerk

And laying me down with the greatest of care,

And giving a nod, they carried me from there!

Ron sprang to his sleigh, to the team gave a whistle,

And away we all flew with Nurse Joyce keeping vigil!

I tried to exclaim as we drove out of sight

THANK YOU to my heroes – Merry Christmas - Good Night!
