AVFD PICNIC NOTICE: Once again, this year, we're planning a silent auction along with the raffle for the AVFD picnic on July 5th. Anyone wanting to donate something for the raffle can contact Jessie Kelly at 862-8297 and for the silent auction can contact Rich or Pat Ostrom at 862-8438. Please keep in mind that the donations for a silent auction should be of good quality and value. All donations will be appreciated and are tax deductible under the Arrowhead Fire Protection District. There will also be booth space available for vendors wanting to sell their art, craft, or product. The cost to Arrowhead property owners will be $25 for a 10x11 booth, and $50 to all others. You can call Don Keoltzow at 862-8243 for questions. An application can be picked up at the Montrose or Gunnison Chamber of Commerce, or Don can email you one.

The Arrowhead Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual 4th of July Picnic and fund raiser July 5th, 2008 on the firehouse grounds. This year’s event promises fun and entertainment for one and all. There will be games and prizes for the children, shopping at many booths for the adults and plenty of scrumptious barbecue for everyone! A huge raffle is planned with plenty of fabulous items donated by local merchants. There will also be a silent auction offering select items donated by individuals.

"Guest Cooks" for the Inn

The Inn is looking for any locals who’d like to cook as guest-cooks for homeowner events like the Thursday Homeowner Fellowship Dinner, ladies/men’s breakfast, etc. It would be a chance for people to show off their cooking talents and much appreciated by all who attend!

Heads-Up . . . the Bears (and other Critters) are Back

Photo taken summer of '07 by by Jim Busselle

We have had 2 bear sightings at Arrowhead around the Crest area. Be aware of your surroundings. A large coyote and fox have been seen recently, and were not timid around people. Do not feed the wild life.
